Full job description
Commercial firm in Pretoria has a vacancy for a Candidate Attorney or admitted Attorney looking to practise in commercial law.
The successful candidate will gain a broad range of experience in debt collection, more complex litigation, contract drafting, company structuring, labour law and general legal advice to companies.
Minimum Requirements:
- Passion for commercial law. The nature of our work is pure, broad commercial law, and requires experience in solving all the legal challenges faced by micro and small enterprises.
- Completed matric and law degree.
- No criminal record.
- Bilingual (English and any other language).
- Able and willing to work either remotely or at office.
- Presentable, professional and capable of working with people. The legal profession demands that you interact regularly with your clients.
- Mature with a positive attitude and some life experience.
- Excellent drafting and research abilities.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to work under minimal supervision.
- You have already chosen commercial law as your preferred field of law.
- Impeccable Fit and Proper status and good standing with the LPC.
The ideal candidate:
- has the ability to understand both the details as well as the big picture, and an understanding of how different spheres of law interact to determine the advice to be given to client;
- preferably already has working experience in law or in another field;
- has negotiation and transactional skills;
- has the ability not only to maintain but to develop new client relations;
- has a BCom LLB degree with some experience in accounting and financial acumen;
- has had some additional exposure to intellectual property law, company structuring and/or franchising.

- a list of all commercial law tasks you have handled, e.g. types of contracts, shareholders disputes etc; and
- a short, informal brief detailing what aspects of law you understand to be involved in supporting business (no more than two pages).
