Full job description
The Opportunity: Are you an early-to-mid-career clinical professional (Nurse or Allied Health) looking to step away from intense ward shifts and build a long-term career in healthcare administration?
We are looking for a focused, highly organized Medical Case Manager to join our specialized practice on-site in Boksburg. This is a part-time position (3 days per week) with an exciting, structured path to transition into a permanent, full-time role as our practice expands. If you have a solid clinical foundation and a genuine passion for the strategy behind patient care, we will provide the specialized coding and managed care training you need to succeed.
What You’ll Do:
- Coordinate the Patient Journey: Oversee patient care pathways from the initial clinical assessment all the way through to successful recovery.
- Drive Strategic Authorizations: Manage the day-to-day case management, medical justifications, and utilization reviews to ensure patients get access to the precise treatments they need.
- Act as the Ultimate Liaison: Serve as the vital link connecting our clinical team, patients, and medical schemes, translating complex medical plans into clear, professional communication.
- Support Practice Efficiency: Run vital general practice administrative duties and data workflows, ensuring our service delivery is always seamless and organized.
Position is available for 3-days per week (Mon-Wed) to grow to a full-time 5-day work week.
Starting salary (3-day): R15 000 pm
Qualifications
- A Passion for Clinical Coordination: You love the puzzle of creating, implementing, and monitoring patient care plans, ensuring our patients have a seamless journey from assessment to recovery.
- An Interest in Healthcare Administration & Disability Management: You are eager to master the administrative side of healthcare. Whether you have basic exposure or are just highly organized and ready to learn, you will play a key role in supporting patients through their funding and treatment journeys.
- Strong Communication & Tech-Savvy Organization: You are an excellent communicator who enjoys collaborating with patients, medical schemes, and our clinical team. You have sharp problem-solving skills and love keeping a workspace highly organized.
- Clinical Foundation: A current professional qualification as an Enrolled Nurse (EN), Registered Nurse (RN), Orthotist, or in an Allied Health/Clinical setting.
- Early-Career Clinical Experience: You have a solid foundation of clinical or hospital setting experience (1–5 years is the sweet spot), but you do not need decades of administrative experience—we value your foundational medical knowledge and are ready to train you on the rest!
- East Rand Local: Able to work reliably on-site at our professional practice in Boksburg for 3 days a week (with exciting room to grow into a full-time role).
