Role Overview
We are recruiting an Independent Audit & Integrity Officer to provide an independent layer of oversight across the entire QA operation. Operating outside the site inspection structure, this officer conducts unannounced audits of production activities, warehouse operations, and inspection team conduct, reporting directly to executive management. This role requires a high degree of independence and professional resilience. It is not suited to candidates who require a collegial working environment to perform effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct unannounced audits of production lines, warehouse operations, and QA inspection activities
- Review the conduct and outputs of shift inspectors and Senior Factory QA Managers
- Conduct supplier integrity checks and investigate anomalies in production or documentation
- Verify that sampling procedures are being followed correctly and without manipulation
- Cross-check inspection reports against physical goods and production records
- Identify and investigate indicators of process failure, collusion, or misconduct
- Report findings directly to executive management
- Recommend systemic improvements to reduce operational and integrity risk
Requirements
- Background in internal audit, compliance investigation, or operational risk management
- Experience operating across complex, multi-site manufacturing or supply chain environments
- Strong analytical skills and ability to detect inconsistencies across documentation and physical evidence
- High personal integrity and the ability to operate independently without site-level peer support
- Comfortable conducting reviews without prior notice and escalating findings objectively
Additional Notes
Extensive travel across multiple sites is required. This is a roving role with no fixed base.
This role is based in South Africa. Successful candidates will be required to travel to and deploy at international manufacturing sites as directed. Travel, accommodation, and deployment costs are covered by the employer.
Pay: R40 000,00 – R70 000,00 per month
