Full job description
Qualipak (Pty) Ltd is a leading manufacturer of equipment for the food and beverage industries. We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Design Engineer to join our dynamic team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Produce layout drawings of customers’ manufacturing areas
- Develop efficient and cost-effective designs with a focus on simplicity, feasibility, and accuracy
- Compile assemblies and detailed manufacturing drawings in accordance with recognised engineering standards
- Prepare part specifications, bills of materials (BOMs), production orders, and technical manuals
- Issue revisions and maintain up-to-date manufacturing drawings, material lists, and machine manuals
- Conduct on-site measurements as required
- Manage design documentation and project administration
- Provide technical support during manufacturing processes and assist on-site technicians
REQUIREMENTS & SKILLS
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent qualification)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD; experience with SolidWorks (2D & 3D) will be a distinct advantage
- Strong planning skills with the ability to manage deadlines effectively
- High attention to detail and a commitment to quality
- Solid problem-solving ability with a practical, solutions-oriented mindset
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
- Self-motivated, reliable, and positive in approach
REMUNERATION
The remuneration package will be commensurate with qualifications, experience, and the responsibilities of the role.
