Applications Engineer – Mining Safety Technology
South Africa | Extensive Travel to Mine Sites Across Southern Africa
I’m currently recruiting for an exciting opportunity with a specialist mining safety technology company working with some of the biggest mining operations in Southern Africa.
This role is perfect for someone who enjoys being hands-on in the field, solving technical problems, working closely with clients, and being part of technology that genuinely saves lives underground and on surface mines.
You’ll be working with:
Collision Avoidance Systems
Missing Person Locator Technology
Level 9 Vehicle Interface Systems
CAN-bus integrated mining safety solutions
What the role involves:
- Site assessments and technical surveys
- System design and configuration
- Installation, commissioning & testing
- Technical support and troubleshooting
- Client training and demonstrations
- Supporting tenders and technical proposals
- Working closely with OEMs and mining clients
What we’re looking for:
- Degree/Diploma in Electrical, Electronic or Mechatronic Engineering
- Around 3–6 years’ experience in applications engineering, systems integration or field engineering
- Mining industry experience highly advantageous
- Exposure to CAN-bus, GNSS, RFID or related technologies would be a big plus
- Someone technically strong but also confident dealing with clients on site
Underground mining exposure will definitely stand out.
